Hiya guys! It's the start of a brand new month and as I mentioned a few weeks ago it's time for some nail art. I'm not a crazy huge fan of Valentine's Day or anything, but you girl can appreciate a red manicure like no one else. So to kick the month off I decided I would do a simple nail art look for Valentine's Day. Emphasis on the word simple. I am really happy with how it turned out though and even wore it for a few days. I like how I say that as if wearing a manicure for a few days is abnormal or something, haha. I still have that swatcher mindset where I wear something for like 20 minutes at most, snap some photos, and on to the next one. Yeah, I don't miss those crazy acetone-fumed days too much. Especially now that I'm able to start dipping my toes back into nail art again!
I know with my last nail art post I mentioned feeling extremely rusty at basic techniques, but this really cemented that fact. It's kind of a bummer that I have lost a skill-set during my hiatus period, but I feel eager to re-learn things. I was looking at some of my past manicures and mind you they have never been overly complicated, but I was mind-blown into another dimension. I kept asking myself, 'how did I even do that?!' about a million and one times. Even my own videos had me scratching my head, haha. I think the only thing I feel confident in is nail stamping, but like I haven't actually done it over a year so who knows. Hmm a little foreshadowing into my next nail art post? Maybe, maybe.
Here's a breakdown of the tools and polishes I used to create this nail art look. As always please keep in mind this is just all the stuff I personally used, all of them can be easily substituted.
- Polishes Used - Inm Out the Door: White Porcelain, Celine's Jelly Bean, and Casino Royale
- Dotting Tool: Winstonia
- Top Coat: Out The Door Glossy Topcoat
It was kind of funny how much I was dragging my feet with video editing and doing the voice-over until I saw the file sizes. Quickest video ever, haha. It was almost like too quick and I debated even posting the video. In the end though I felt like you guys would enjoy it regardless so I'm hoping that's true. Since it was such a simple design it's very easy to mess it up along the way. I should know, I messed up like a handful of times and had to start over. So in the voice-over I decided to include some tips and tricks that helped me a long the way. Hopefully it saves you from some of my mistakes.
Even though it's a very easy design I hope you like it nonetheless and enjoyed the video. Plus I want to document my progression as I continue doing more and more nail art. It feels really fun in a way to start from the beginning and re-do some of my designs from way back in the day. So that'll be my focus in the upcoming months and if you have any designs you want to see a comeback please let me know. Thanks for reading and I'll catch you next time xoxo Moonbaes.
This is very cute and love the colours :-D
