In Memory of Chino, Happy Birthday

Hiya guys. Today has certainly been a really rough day because it's my dog Chino's birthday. As some of you may know, he passed away last month surrounded by his family. Nothing feels the same this year without him around. There is a massive emptiness and void that cannot be filled. Not just for me, but for anyone and everyone who knew him. He was one of a kind. Chino loved the holidays and was a true Christmas baby at heart. Today's post is dedicated in his honor, to the best dog I could of ever asked for.

Staring at his photo to try and do a mani was too difficult for me so I did the best I could. The lovely Cheyenne from CDB Nails (not only my nail bestie but my soul sister) created a mani in his memory. It's an amazing piece of art and I'm so thankful.

In her own words, Cheyenne says, "I tried my very best to capture him and I hope I accomplished that. I know what it feels like to lose a family pet and it's a devastating feeling so I hope this mani brightens your day at least a little bit Rose! I love you and I am so grateful to have found a friend like you! I wish you peace and strength during this painful time! Happy Birthday Chino, and may you rest in the sweetest peace!<3".

Words cannot describe how much this gesture meant to me and the mani is a true piece of art. I had a version printed and framed on my nail desk, I will forever cherish this. Please hop on over to her blog to read the post in it's entirety, CDB Nails.

Not a day goes by where I don't miss him, but I know he's in doggie heaven watching over me. He was my first dog and my best friend for 13 years. I will never forget him. Not from his excessive aggression towards my socks to his fear of the dark to his way of licking away my tears during the tough times.

Rest in Peace Chino | 12/21/01 - 11/23/14
