12 Days of Christmas: Snowflakes

Happy Monday guys! Are you getting your shopping done? I have officially shopped till I dropped... and boy did I drop hard. I ended up falling asleep last night before I even got a chance to do my mani for the first prompt in the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge by Challenge Your Nail Art. I would of been upset except I woke up a little early and rushed to get this done before I had to go to work. So this is literally a fifteen minute mani, but don't be awed cause it's not a good thing haha. Here are my frosty snowflakes mani:

I cannot believe I managed to get a mani done with sleepy eyes and pretty much in the dark. Thank goodness for my small lamp and flashlight on my phone. Oh the things we do to get time for our nails haha.

Polishes used Zoya's Blu (creme) and Liberty (Pixiedust). For the snowflakes and dots, I used white acrylic paint and a detail brush. I cannot believe I don't own any nice snowflake stamping plates! I was so bumped out at finding this out earlier this morning when I went searching. I definitely wish I would of had more time to really work on this mani, but at least I got it done right?

Oh and also guys I'll be showing a little something nifty about the process of creating this gradient and easy cleanup later on this afternoon. Anyone who has tried to do a gradient with a Pixiedust polish or any heavy glitters probably feels my pain on the cleanup portion of it. Two words: Nail Aprons! I'll now leave you with the anticipation of what I'm talking about haha.

Check out all the other ladies participating in the 12 days of Christmas snowflakes prompt from the Challenge Your Nail Art group.

  1. Lovely gradient, makes such a perfect background for your snowflakes! I cannot believe you did this in 15 minutes, that is SO impressive and your freehand is wonderful!

    1. Haha thank you so much! First time doing snowflakes too so after doing the first line I totally spaced out and had no idea how to continue for a minute.

  2. I've painted my nails by the light of my computer monitor before but it didn't turn out this good. And it took way longer than 15 minutes. I'm seriously impressed.

  4. This is a beautiful look! I did glitter/texture gradients too, and nail aprons would have probably been easier than the elmer's glue I used, but I will never again do one without some kind of cleanup plan in effect! That's a mistake you only make once!

  5. My sister-in-law wanted me to do her nails before Christmas and I showed her the nails from this linkup to give her ideas. She picked yours. My interpretation is on my blog now. http://nerdwithnails.blogspot.com.au/2015/01/more-christmas-nails.html
