Hiya guys. It's nothing but rain in Jersey today, which only means one thing... bad luck galore. When it rains, it pours and things go from zero to one hundred really quick. Blogger decided to delete my entire blog post after it was written earlier today, lovely. Thank goodness I had my notes with me! Today I'll be showing you guys three polishes from
Regal Ween Lacquer from the Middle Earth Part I Collection.

Minas Tirith
Minas Tirith, named after the capital city of the Gondor nation, is a frosty pearl white polish. I haven't worn a frost pearl like this in a very long time, but this one makes me want to a lot more often. The shade does make my skintone look a bit tanner than normal, but I actually don't mind it at all. Formula was sheer on the first coat, but applied with ease and had an overall great consistency. I was surprised at how smoothly each layer applied since pearls like this seem to be nit-picky with the brush strokes. For these swatches, I applied three coats for an opaque finish and sealed them in with a glossy topcoat.
Rohan
Rohan is inspired by the golden grasses in the fields of Rohan itself and is a golden brown creme polish laced with subtle gold holo. From the second I saw this shade I was immediately drawn into the earthy tone. It's such a unique color and I wish so badly that I could recommend it to you guys. Unfortunately, I ran into a few issues with the formula and application. If you take a closer look you can see some pigment residue on my nails and you can see the layers are 'chunky' in spots. I spoke with Kaitlin, the maker of Regal Ween Lacquer, about all the issues I experienced and I received a very prompt response. She recognizes the issue with the pigment and will be reformulating the polish for the time of release. I was so thrilled to hear this from her, because the coloring of this polish is really beautiful and it'd be a shame to not be able to wear it properly. For these swatches, I applied three thin coats and sealed with a topcoat.
Mount Doom
Mount Doom is a black scattered holo with red and purple toned micro glitters. This polish takes its inspiration from the burning fires of Mount Doom and the cold metal armor and weapons of Sauron's army. From the three I covered here, this one is definitely my favorite. The scattered holo is very subtle, but sparkles like the night sky at an angle (as you can see below). Very beautiful and a must-have for those who enjoy the dark vamp feel. The consistency in each layer was fantastic and the formula gave me no issues. Opaque in very few coats, which made dry time a breeze. Swatched here is two coats with a glossy topcoat finish.
Overall the Middle Earth Part I Collection by Regal Ween Lacquer shows a lot of potential for the indie newcomer. It's a shame about the formula for Rohan, but more importantly I love how the maker responded to my concerns and plans to reformulate to address the issue. A business is nothing without great customer service and this high regard for product satisfaction says a lot about the maker. Definitely one to keep an eye on my fellow indie polish lovers.
