HPB March Link-Up & Crumpet's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Present: Spring

Hiya guys. I apologize if I don't sound like my spring chicken-y self, but I am feeling really under the weather. I haven't slept because of my constant headache/migraine I've had for the last two weeks straight. So because of that I am being a bit of a cheater today and using a mani I actually did last week, but never got around to posting. Unless you follow me on YouTube then you might have already seen the video... Shhh I'll deny everything. And as long as I'm being a little sneak then I'm going to do a two-in-one! So I present to you my Spring design for both the HPB March Link-Up and Crumpet's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas prompt.

I love the simplicity of this kind of floral design. I'll be honest, I'm not the greatest in doing realistic freehand florals. So when given the chance I'd much rather stick to something I am comfortable with that will turn out cute in the end.

I actually used yellow in a mani?! Say what?!?! Okay, now you guys know I'm so sick I am losing my mind haha, I cannot help myself in the presence of the greatness that is known as I Can't Cope-Acabana from OPI. I'm at the point where I need a back-up for my back-up, that's how much I adore this shade!

Now here's a break down of everything else I used to create this mani:

  • Polishes: OPI My Vampire is Buff and I Can't Cope-Acabana, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Zoya Nana, and White from KB Shimmer
  • Winstonia Metal Dotting Tool
  • Rhinestones from eBay
  • Liquid Latex from Simply Peel
  • Top Coat: Seche Vite

Quick note: I'm almost at 300 subs on my YouTube channel! The support has been amazing and I love being able to record and do voice-overs now. It's one of my favorite things to do as part of the whole mani process, so thank you so much! Come join the club if you haven't already at: youtube.com/user/aquam3lon

Adding the Fairy Dust over the gradient before doing the floral design I think adds a really nice subtle touch to the look. Of course, that's definitely a total optional step. But I mean, it's Fairy Dust why wouldn't you add it, haha.

I've been using my dotting tool a lot recently for nail art, especially floral patterns, and I have to recommend the one from Winstonia. It's my only dotting tool I own because it has like six (maybe more) interchangeable tips that vary in sizes. I love having control over the sizing of what I want to do. Especially because it does include some very tiny small tips, as well as, the fairly big one I used in this design.

I really hope you guys like this mani and end up doing a recreation of your own. Definitely tag me if you do because I'd love to see. And now it's time for link-ups! Be sure to check out all the talented nail artists and bloggers participating.
