Supermoon Lacquer - Polish Pick Up - February 2018

Hiya guys! Where did today even go? I feel like I blinked and the day flew by, which is not a good thing considering how many unfinished chores I have. If only my dogs could help the way kids do, haha. But nope as I slave away with a million activities they are biting at my feet to get at my socks. I can't even pretend to be annoyed, I love playing with them like this haha. Anyhow I'm like way too off track so let's talk polish. Today I'm sharing swatches for Supermoon Lacquer February contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. The theme this month is Sugar Rush and this shade has a little bit of a twist. Our dear Mardi couldn't wait for the books themed to be voted in, so she decided to combine the best of two worlds with this shade. I won't leave you guessing for too long, let's get to the swatches!

Which Tastes Sweeter by Supermoon Lacquer will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, February 2nd at 11AM EST through February 5th. This full-size 12mL shade will retail for $13 each and is capped at a generous 240.

If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for February is Sugar Rush. This month Mardi found her inspiration from her favorite book as a teenager Blood and Chocolate. The book is a werewolf themed young adult novel by Annette Curtis Klause.

Which Tastes Sweeter can be described as a scattered holographic multichrome that shifts in color from reddish-brown to green to teal, with copper and gold sparks, red/orange/yellow and red/copper/green chameleon shimmer, red-to-gold, bronze-to-green, and red-to-green color shifting shimmer flakies, rose pearl flakies, iridescent red-to-green color shifting micro-glitter, and holographic copper and gold micro-glitter.

Okay I have to start off by saying my photos don't do any justice to the shift. I know I always tend to say that, but in this case it's 110 percent accurate. For whatever reason the fact that I swatch in a dark cave I could not get the polish to shift under my lights. If you look at the shop listing though some of the other swatchers managed to be professional AF capture the gold green shift perfectly.

The formula has an opaque application, though not quite enough to be considered a one coater. Consistency wise it's well balanced, not too thick or too thin. It's very smooth, which makes it super easy to work with for layering. Definitely has the ace formula this brand is known to have. It dries down to a gritty finish, but smooths out perfectly after topcoat. And no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

And once again that matte topcoat is out here getting some work done. Of course, I'm loving the way it looks though glossy is the clear winner of this round. I think... It's like the more I look at the photo the more the vote sways the other way, haha. I can't make up my mind and you guys don't either... so long as this one makes it into your cart this weekend. The cap is generously high, but I wouldn't take the risk so set those alarms.

  1. Did the microglitter make removal difficult?

    1. No, not at all. I wore this overnight and the next day I removed it without the need to soak in acetone. And the glitters didn't stick to my skin on removal either.
