Hiya guys! The anticipation is sky-high as we finish preparing our wishlists for Polish Pickup. Narrowing down what to get on a budget is the hardest part about this. And yet here I am enabling you with another stunner you most definitely need to get. Don't hate me, haha. Today I'm sharing swatches for Contrary Polish February contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. Along with the polish, this month Contrary Polish is also releasing a lip balm. I know it's more to enable you with, but it's definitely super must-haves that need to make your final cut. Don't take me word for it, the photos can do all the convincing. Without further ado, let's head to the swatches!
Gummy Bears in Love by Contrary Polish will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop Friday, February 2nd at 11AM EST through February 5th. This full-size 15mL shade will retail for $12 each.
If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for February is Sugar Rush. This month Carrie found her inspiration from the classic Gummy bear couples by Haribo.
Gummy Bears in Love can be described as a deep red-toned purple filled with gold microflakes, holo microflakes, and a rainbow of iridescent flakies. Doesn't this beauty look like a straight-up gem?! The mixture of the flakies is so dreamy, it adds just the right amount of 'pop' without being overwhelming. Plus as a fan of purple and red hues this shade is the perfect combination of both! It's so flattering against any skin-tone.
The formula has a sheer jelly-like application that builds-up well for full coverage. It has a nicely balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. Very easy to work with and layer. The flakes disperse evenly with each brush stroke so there is no clumping. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish that smooths out after topcoat. I experienced no staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
In addition to the gorgeous polish this month, Carrie has decided her first ever lip balm! Gummy Bear Kisses is a deep red-toned purple like the polish Gummy Bears in Love and provides a sheer wash of color on the lips. Each lip balm retails for $6.
Personally I am head over heels for this balm and have been using it daily ever since I received it. I'm not one much for makeup during the week when I have to go to work so this is perfect. The tint is gives my lips the perfect berry pinky look with no effort. It's also more opaque and noticeable than I expected, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. The best part for me is how light and airy it feels on my lips - not too sticky or oily. I cannot wait to see if Carrie releases more tints and scents in the future!
