Hiya guys! I know it's been a few days and let me just say it has not been fun times for Rose. Two words, nail break. The year has just begun and I'm already going this rabbit hole. Luckily I could see the break coming for the past week, so I was able to grow out some length before it snapped off. But it's time to get back to enabling, shorter length be damned. Today I'm sharing swatches for the St. Patrick's Day Duo by Smokey Mountain Lacquers, which consists of two gorgeous green-y shades. Normally I'm not a fan of of green hues, but both of these knocked my socks off. Plus those spring vibes are so strong, I'm living for it. Let's go ahead and get right into the swatches!
The St. Patrick's Day Duo by Smokey Mountain Lacquers will be available for pre-order from February 16th at 7pm CST through February 23rd at 7pm CST. Each full-size 15mL bottle retails for $11-12 based on the finish. The duo can be purchased as a set for the discounted rate of $20.70.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Fierce
Fierce can be described as a deep blackened green with gold to green shifting shimmer and green to bronze UCC flakies. Shimmer is one thing this nail girl will never get tired of, haha. And this polish is just... well... Wowza! Definitely my favorite pick among the two and that's really saying something because both are stunners in their own right. But the shimmer makes the already rich dark base come to life! It's like glowing, it's so almost electrifying.
The formula has a sheer jelly-like application that builds up evenly for full coverage. The consistency is well balanced, not too thick or too thin. There isn't too many flakies per brush stroke, which works well to not overwhelm the finish. It dries down to a semi-gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Entitlemint
Entitlemint can be described as a mint linear holo. While the other shade in the duo is packing the punch, this one here is not to be overlooked. Definitely has more of a simple calm vibe that radiates spring to me. And I don't know if it's me, but I can totally picture doing some floral nail art on this as a base. I love how it looks against my skin tone, which is something that doesn't happen often with mints.
The formula has a very opaque application, almost enough to be a one coater. Consistency wise it's well balanced, not too thick or too thin. The coverage is just so creamy and easy to work with. It dries down to a smooth and high-shine finish on its own. I didn't experience any staining on removal to my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
To recap, St.
