Shleee Polish - Blazing | Swatch & Review

Hiya guys! I have another brand new nail related post for you this month and it's actually some more swatches. Well to be honest 'brand new' is a little bit of a stretch. This is actually quite an old swatch photo that I've had in my folders for at least a year. The funny thing is my nails have switched shapes and sizes about six times over since these were taken and somehow I'm right back to the same length and style again. Today I'm sharing swatches of the gorgeous Blazing by Shleee Polish, which I purchased back in 2018. Whew. Now that's a heck of a long time ago! Funny thing is I'm not finding myself any more available with time these days. I thought that being quarantined at home would mean more free time away to work on things, but so far it has been quite the opposite experience. To be fair I work in IT for a very large school district and with all the shutdowns there has quite a bit of panic. I'm having to take phone calls at home, answer hundreds of emails, and join in on dozens of web meetings. Fun stuff. I shouldn't complain, I'm honestly lucky enough to have a job that can be worked on at home. With the passing days I'm hoping that things will slow down enough for me so I can have the energy to start going thru my mountain of polish. Fingers crossed. I digress though, let's jump right into these swatches as they've been unseen for long enough.

Shleee Polish - Blazing

Blazing by Shleee Polish is unfortunately no longer available for purchase. This shop has a pretty quick-buy format of 'one batch and gone' style where a polish does not get made again after it has sold out. There are exceptions to this when it comes to really popular shades or sometimes I have seen the owner create a second version of the shade. The second version usually doesn't have all the exact ingredients, but it's close enough to the original version that it carries the same name just with a 0.2 attached so you know it's a little different.

Blazing can be described as a bright green polish with intense copper and pink shimmers, including unicorn/aurora pigment. I'm not normally a fan of green shades, like at all, so it was quite surprising to be so drawn into this shade. Actually this brand has me falling in love with all kinds of colors I never thought possible, haha. I think I have a hard time resisting this brand because of the swatch photos always having that shimmer POPing out. I have a whole helmer drawer to prove that point! Now I'm not saying the polish doesn't have shimmer power, because it definitely and most certainly does. But the photos are taken in natural sunlight I believe so it definitely highlights the selling point to maximum, which isn't always how we'll see the polish once we're wearing it. Once I realized that, it hasn't stopped me from buying and I have never really felt disappointed in my purchases either. So yeah, this stunning green shade is Rose approved. From the contrasting shimmer to the way it simply makes my skin glow, I love it so much!

The formula has a bit of a sheer application with it feeling more like a jelly finish to me. It has a great build-up throughout the layering process and ends up having full opacity. Fantastic well-balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. The layering was easy work with even if the initial coats were sheer, like I mentioned it builds super well. It dries down to a smooth high shine finish on its own prior to adding some topcoat. Lots of shimmer in the finish so it tends to stick a little to the nail bed and skin on removal. Nothing too excessive or annoying to deal with. This shade is shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

And that's a wrap on Blazing by Shleee Polish! I'm so happy I was able to cross one more off my very long list of polish I need to swatch. Especially when it comes to this brand. I have helmers upon helmers of polish waiting for me to swatch, so if you have a yesteryear shade that you'd like to do let me know down in the comments. These days I don't tend to buy as much, but if we're talking polish first released in 2017-2018 then I'm your girl, haha. Until next time stay safe and healthy xoxo Moonbaes.
