Hiya guys. My sweet time off has come to a close and I'm back at work this week. It always ends way too quickly, doesn't it? At least the weather is finally picking up since we're officially in Spring now. Anyway, today I have a special collection brought to you by Cirque Colors that is exclusive to Nordstrom. Part of their Pop-In shop series happening March 20th through April 19th, this collection centers around Magic-Hour aka raves, outdoors festivals, music, and lots of lights!
The Pop-In Collection by Cirque Colors brought to you by Nordstrom has four holo polishes and three glitter toppers. These will be available exclusivity on Nordstrom.com or in select stores (you can find the locations at the bottom of the post). As of right now, the neon holos are sold out online, but they will be restocked and be on back order. Don't worry guys, in the meantime you still can find them in the 8 locations that will be mentioned at the end of the post!
Sun Dog is a vivid tangerine with a holographic finish. This is probably hands down the best orange polish in my entire collection! Granted, I don't have more than probably a half dozen orange polishes but you cannot deny the beauty in the holo. I love how it doesn't clash with my skin tone! Formula was great, applied very smoothly. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed them with a topcoat.
Twilight is a bright blue with a holographic finish. Favorite alert! This blue is so ridiculously vibrant and electric, especially when captured under a little sunlight! I definitely think this is a must-have for any collection, especially if you're a party girl! This color is the perfect way to finish off your killer party/rave outfit. Great formula, I had no issues applying. Even though it's a bright blue, rest assured there are no staining issues. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed them with a topcoat.
Flash is a neon chartreuse with a holographic finish. The summer green to have on your nails! I would have to call this one the runner up to personal favorite. It's definitely very rave ready, don't you think? Fantastic formula and almost fully opaque in just a single coat. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed them with a topcoat.
Plur is a neon pink with a holographic finish. My camera had a hard time capturing the 'pink'ness in this particular polish, making it a little more fuchsia than neon pink. These photos honestly don't do any justice for the holo finish, it's very apparent in person. Like the other neons in the collection, great formula and application. I'd like to note, quick on the dry time as well. For these swatches, I used two thin coats and sealed them with a topcoat.
Phosphors is a clear-based glitter topper with white glitter in various shapes and sizes. I love the white glitters over a dark base so I did a simple black color. At first I thought the glitter combination might be a bit much, but it ended up growing on me the more I wore it. Definitely had to do some placement to space them evenly across my nail and so that the glitters wouldn't clump. The consistency really helped with that and I found the formula very easy to work with.
Discotheque is a clear-based glitter topper with silver holographic glitter in various shapes and sizes. I decided to pair this topper with a neural nude colored base to showcase the holo glitters. The reflection off the silver is so incredible, it's like little reflective rainbows on your nails! To say there was no fishing with this glitter polish would be the underestimate of the century. Each brush stroke has so many glitters, I found myself having to put glitters back in the bottle. I found it easier with this one to just dab the glitters on with a makeup sponge.
Electric Sky is a clear-based glitter topper with white stars and iridescent sparkle. I decided to use Plur and Sun Dog to create a vibrant gradient for the base to this topper. Definitely my favorite among the three glitters from this collection. I have always wanted a good star-based topper, but it's always a struggle to find one that doesn't require massive amounts of fishing. I applied one thin layer and used the dabbing method for the other layer. I sealed off my swatch with two layers of topcoat to smooth down all the glitters.
Overall I'm very much in love with the four neon holos! The holo finishes are all intense, bright, and the formulas all around are perfect. Not to mention the fact they all glow under black light which I wish I could of showed! But I definitely plan on showing these with nail art a lot during the next few weeks. While I suspected I would love the holos before I tried them on, I was pleasantly surprised with the three glitters. The suspension was perfect for the larger glitters, making it so we don't have to fish them out. I do think the glitter toppers are a little too similar to each other, so I'd personally just opt for my favorite so I can mix and match with the neon holos.
Now let's talk about the Magic Hour display at Nordstrom!
I visited Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ this weekend and the entire walkway leading up to the display was packed with people. There are neon lights flashing everywhere, a funky psychedelic wave floor, and music blasting as soon as you get near. How can anyone resist the urge to not look?!
Neon all the things!
The atmosphere was a lot of fun and they had a few little things going on. In the photos below, you can see they had a DIY rave poster stand. They seriously did a fantastic job capturing the essence of a rave! The crazy trippy floor was my favorite part, I wish I could of captured it on film! If you're near one of the locations, I definitely suggest stopping by Nordstrom and have a good time jamming out while you pick yourself up these beauties.
