Daily Hues Lacquer - Rare Hues Collection

Hiya guys! It's the season of lots of releases and I am happy to be sharing more of that with you. As I always say, bring on the polish! Spoken as a true addict, of course. Today is the release of the much anticipated Rare Hues Collection by Daily Hues Lacquer. This set also reveals a new concept at Daily Hues Lacquer for limited edition surprise polishes that will not be revealed until the day of release and will not be restocked. Let's get to the swatches!

The Rare Hues Collection by Daily Hues Lacquer will be available for purchase today November 16th at noon PST. Each full-size bottle retails for $8.50 each and will not be restocked once it is sold out. These are extremely limited in quantity so don't miss out!

Daily Hues Lacquer - Rosewood

Rosewood can be described as a sandy rose colored shimmer with a dusting of scattered holo. Initially I didn't think I would end up caring for the frosty finish against my skin complexion. After swatching it however it became one of my favorites from this set. The color definitely has very soft and feminine feel to it, makes me wish it wasn't so limited in quantity! The formula applies smooth although it has minimal brush strokes if you try and layer before each coat is dry. It's also very opaque considering the tone, which was a nice surprise. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Daily Hues Lacquer - Enchanted Purple

Enchanted Purple can be described as a royal purple with micro silver holo hex and silver micro flakies. Very similar to Rosewood, this polish has a frosty kind of shimmer going on. I definitely have a preference to this one color wise, because it is such a striking shade to wear. The formula was a little bit difficult to work with if the layers are no fully dry. There are also some minimal brush strokes, again these tend to be more prominent if the coats are layered while wet. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Daily Hues Lacquer - Tahitian Waters

Tahitian Waters can be described as a lapis blue with slight pink shimmer and a dusting of scattered holo. Hands down my favorite from this initial Rare Hues release! The pink shimmer gives it a nice touch to stand out among similar shades in my collection. The formula was very opaque in a single coat, I want to say almost a one coater. Super smooth to apply. If you don't wear a base coat this will cause some minimal staining. I ended up doubling up on the base (as I do with most blues) and didn't experience any staining to my nails. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Daily Hues Lacquer - Fleur Di Lis

Fleur Di Lis can be described as a clear based glitter bomb with royal purple, sky blue, white, and navy blue small hex glitter. This is the polish I was probably most drawn to when I first received the package. As a self-proclaimed glitter extremist, the combination alone is so drool-worthy! The formula is best used with a dabbing or sponging kind of application. For the purpose of this review I attempted a direct application and it was sheer and very spotty on the first two coats. I ended up opting to dab the third and final layer in order to cover any bald spots. Shown here is two direct coats with an additional dabbed on and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Daily Hues Lacquer - Glitter Raindrops

Glitter Raindrops consists of all the glitter that has been spilled or leaked over the last two years of Daily Hues existence. No two bottles are going to be exactly alike! Concept wise this was probably my favorite by far. The idea of a bin full of unused mish-mash glitters could be put to use like this is so cleaver! I decided to pair this fun topper over a subtle fuchsia and purple gradient, I think it fits so well together! Formula was a little thick so it's best to apply this topper with the dabbing method. The consistency of the base is fantastic, the glitters (even the larger ones) ease onto the nail without any issues or need to fish. Shown here is one layer dabbed on over a gradient and sealed with a glossy layer of topcoat.

Overall I love the concept for the Rare Hues Collection by Daily Hues Lacquer. I think it gives us all a fun little perspective into the maker's point of view and how their creativity outputs. It's like a collection of non-collection-ers... haha I don't think if that made sense there. But there is a lot of variety in the finishes and colors as well, which is always a very nice thing to see in a 'collection'. Tahitian Waters is so limited guys, definitely don't miss out on my pick for must-have! Trust me when I say photos don't do that shimmer any justice.
