Hiya guys! Today I am excited to announce that I was one of the bloggers chosen to participate in the latest OPI and Preen.Me team up. This time we'll be focusing on the launch of the new OPI holiday collection titled Starlight. This is a limited edition collection and through the Preen.Me VIP program I have received six of the eighteen shades in this set. During the next few weeks, I have decided to create holiday-themed manis using this collection. The goal here will be creating nail looks that are quick and easy, but full of that holiday glam! Here's the first look I have come up with:
Don't I look fancy? *raises pinky* Quilted nails are a technique I struggled with for a long time and stayed away from. But I finally found a way to achieve this look in a quick and easy way that anyone can do.
Let's break down how to achieve this mani by starting off with the blinged out accent nail. I have stained nails so in order to mask that I am starting off using Essie's Sugar Daddy. Then I used OPI's Let Your Love Shine to create a nude to burgundy gradient. Seal it with a glossy topcoat to smooth out and further blend the colors. For my mani, I decided to add a nail charm from Daily Charme to give it that extra glam look.
Next I painted one smooth coat of the luscious Love Is In My Cards by OPI and sealed it off with a glossy topcoat. Make sure it's a fast drying one! After making sure my base was completely dry, I used four pieces of striping tape to create this pattern. Take your time when placing the striping tape to make sure it is aligned and spaced as best as possible. Then add two coats of your favorite matte topcoat. Before your topcoat dries, start peeling off the striping tape in the order you placed it last. And that is all there is to it! Easiest quilted nails ever, haha.
On my thumb (not seen) and pinky I decided for a simple two coats of Super Star Status by OPI.
And I think I may have finally found a recording setup that is easy for me to use. I don't want to promise anything, but it is definitely my desire to provide video tutorials with each week. Check out my video below and let me now what you think of this look. Think you'll give something similar a try?
Please don't forget to give me a thumbs and subscribe!
