Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Holiday Glitz & Shine Collection

Hiya guys! Blogger burnout is still going strong unfortunately and the added problems Instagram and Blogger have been having aren't helping. Social media please work with me here, haha. The one thing definitely starting to build-up fast is my holiday spirit, eggnog frappuccinos at Starbucks I'm looking at you. Today I am sharing swatches for the Holiday Glitz & Shine Collection by Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish. This collection consists of six polishes of various shades and finishes. Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish is a new 5-free indie on the scene with this being their second collection and they are holding nothing back! Let's get to the swatches!

The Holiday Glitz & Shine Collection by Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish will be available for purchase starting today, November 16th at noon PST. Each full-size bottle retails for $10-11.00 and the full collection can be purchased for $51.00.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Snowfall

Snowfall can be described as a white crelly packed with white, blue and green iridescent glitters as well as black micro glitters. Doesn't this polish look like glistening fresh snow? I absolutely love it as I always think the holidays aren't complete without a little snowfall. Formula applies a bit sheer on a first go through, but evens out well with the additional coat. Super smooth and the glitters are well dispersed throughout the polish. The iridescent glitters are really the perfect touch to this white crelly! Shown here is two coats and a glossy topcoat.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Santa's New Suit
Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Santa's New Suit

Santa's New Suit can be described as a full coverage glitter packed with red holo, iridescent, gold, and gold holo glitters in a jelly base. Red and jelly? You know I'm all over this from the word go, haha. Again, the iridescent glitters here really give this polish a little extra wow factor to stand out against the sea of red holiday polishes. Formula is sheer as to be expected from a jelly. It does have a really good consistency though and is not too thin or thick. Shown here is three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Evergreen Party

Evergreen Party can be described as a dark green linear holo jelly. Isn't this such a gorgeous shade of green? Not usually a fan of the color, but something about this shade has a very sultry appeal. Very opaque and great formula, probably my pick for best application from the collection. Super smooth and even layers, no problem with staining either. It dries to a nice shine on its own, but adding topcoat will help enhance that shine even further. Shown here is two coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Ornament Dust

Ornament Dust can be described as a full coverage glitter packed with gold holo and iridescent glitters, with a hint of black gold and silver micro glitters. Inspired by the beautiful glittery mess left behind after putting up holiday ornaments. I feel like the inspiration for this polish is the story of my life. Glitter everywhere, all the time haha. The formula applies really easily and has a great consistency as well. It is sheer, but it builds up well. I did find myself dabbing a few 'bald' spots to avoid adding another layer. You could probably get away with two coats if you do thicker layers, I tend to sometimes have a light hand. Lots of micro glitters so this will have a gritty textured finish on its own. Shown here is three coats and double topcoat.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Grinch

Grinch can be described as a creamy chartreuse green with subtle shimmer and sky blue holo glitters. I always love when there is a holiday polish that goes against the 'norms' like this one. Very different and unique. As an added plus, this would look fantastic during the spring and summer as well. Definitely has my must-have stamp of approval. The formula did feel a little bit on the thin side, but it was manageable. It is sheer on the initial coat, but builds up evenly and dries to a natural shine. Shown here is three coats sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish - Festival of Lights

Festival of Lights can be described as a bright blue shimmer. Another brighter and different approach to a holiday shade and I am in love. I can see myself wanting to use this one a lot during off seasons too. This has a very similar formula and consistency to Grinch, but was a little more balanced and not as thin. It was nicely opaque in a single coat and barely needed a second to finish off some areas. I didn't experience any staining, but the shade can be a little bit of a stainer if it is not worn over a base-coat. Shown here in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Overall the Holiday Glitz & Shine Collection from Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish is such an impressive first impression from this new indie. I love the diversity in the shades, especially the uniqueness of my personal favorite Grinch. Definitely a collection with few must-haves if you're a die-hard seasonal fan like I tend to be. Tell me guys, which one was your favorite?
