BTS 5th Muster Magic Shop DVD Unboxing

Hiya guys! I'm back this week with another merchandise unboxing for the K-Pop band BTS and it's not something super outdated this time around. That's right, this is a real recent release (say that 3 times, haha) from just a few months ago. Today I'll be sharing all the contents of the beautiful BTS 5th Muster DVD with you. I've been so excited about this release since the actual event took place last year. Sadly I couldn't attend as it was all overseas and the entrance had to be won through a lottery system. The theme for the muster this time was Magic Shop, which is the title of one of their songs. You can listen and read the lyrics here. This is a very special song although a bit sad - and one of my favorites - that embodies the relationship between BTS themselves and the fans. The idea of the 'magic shop' is a secret place within ourselves where we can find BTS and use them to find support and love. A special place to always feel warm and welcome. The song Magic Shop is based off of a book titled Into the Magic Shop by Dr. James R. Doty. I definitely recommend giving the song a listen if you have a chance. Even if you don't understand the language, I feel like the song has such a strong message that it connects with your soul regardless. Let me not get too emotional here, we have a whole unboxing to look at so let's get to it.

I ended up purchasing this and the Blu-Ray through a Twitter group order. The reason being for lower shipping costs and for a higher chance at getting the photocard I want. Unfortunately this is currently sold out in the US version of WeVerse Shop, but it still available in the Global version. The cost in the Global shop is $47, plus shipping which can be around $20-25. Definitely a big yikes.

This is the outbox for the DVD and it's so precious! By far one of my most favorite packaging to date. As you can see it's designed to be the door into the Magic Shop where BTS is waiting. The photo of them at the door is the perfect touch for this too! The material for the case is a soft touch cover, which is probably the only thing I don't like about it because it damages easily. I'm fortunate enough that it didn't get damaged during transit to the group order manager or at least I didn't receive a damaged one from her. Either way I wish they would have added a transparent protective sleeve over the casing.

Ahhh! Yes, you guys! I got Jimin as my photocard pull for my DVD and I'm still screaming about it. Granted I did join and purchase this through a group order so that my chances would be higher. But still. I almost never get Jimin as my photocard even through group orders - I'm THAT unlucky when it comes to my bias. Like I said, he's my bias so like my favorite member of the band pretty much so I only collect his photocards and merchandise. He happens to be one of the more popular members in the group so his photocards can be quite expensive on eBay unfortunately. So whenever I don't manage to get his photocard for a DVD it's a sad day for me because that means I likely won't be able to afford getting it. To put it in perspective, one of the other members can cost $25 for a DVD photocard while Jimin would be $50-60. Big yikes.

Ok... so I'll admit I had no idea what this was supposed to be. Like I could see that it folded, but I was afraid to force it to fold if that wasn't the case. I actually had to go back into the shop listing before typing this up to realize it's meant to be a pop-up box. And even after that I couldn't get myself to fold it, haha. I'm a total dork, I know. This is the first time they include this kind of item, which I can appreciate having something a little different. It's really cute! It's basically the boys against a backdrop of the stage during a group performance. I promise I will end up folding it properly some day and sharing it with you, haha.

Those outfits! And the aesthetic of like everything! I'm never going to get over how much I love this theme. So this is designed to be the invitation card to the Magic Shop! How cute, right? On the back you have a short message from BTS along with the title to all the songs they would perform at each of the muster shows. Muster time is notorious for BTS to perform songs previously released but never shown live. In this case 'Home' was the debut song they chose to perform from the album Map of the Soul: Persona. Ugh how I wish I could have seen it live! But seeing them perform it at all is absolutely amazing and I loved every second of it.

This is definitely a very thick-y photobook! It's a 156 pages of gorgeous high quality photos. Whew, that's a whole lot. I wish I could show you all the photos, but we'd literally be here all day trying to get the site to load if I did that. I did have to show you guys this gorgeous shot of the stage with the fireworks and all the light-sticks in the crowd. Being there like that is such a magical feeling no words could describe. But yeah the photobook contains pictures of all the performances - individual member shots, group shots, and crowd shots - at both Busan and Seoul. If you'd like to see a complete flip through of the photobook let me know and I will gladly record a YouTube video for you guys.

Ah, that cover is everything! It has each member with their 'role' in the Magic Shop. So this box set comes with a total of 4 DVD discs: two for Busan performances and two for Seoul performances. For each location one disc contains all the songs and performances while the second disc has the 'making of' and behind the scenes. Everything comes in English subtitles and the run time in total is about 450 minutes. So definitely a whole lot to watch! The back of the casing breaks down what each DVD includes. The material for this is similar to the outbox, which again I'm not a huge fan of because of how easily it can be damaged. You can see there is like a scratch on the lower bottom right. It's a little annoying, but definitely not worth complaining about to be honest.

And that's it for the BTS 5th Muster DVD! I'm really happy with everything that was included in the DVD and of course so happy I got my Jimin photocard. I feel like with each DVD things get better and better in terms of quality, which is definitely nice considering the steep pricing. Especially for us international fans. I'll admit I haven't watched all the discs just yet as I got this just two weeks ago, but it's definitely something I will be doing in the upcoming weeks. And I also purchased the Blu-Ray version, so I'll be doing an unboxing of that as well once it arrives at my house. Let me know what you guys think or if any of you also purchased the DVD. Please continue to stay safe and I will catch you next time xoxo Moonbaes.

  1. What does it say that for the first half of this post I thought you it was for a Behind The Scenes DVD of a show, not BTS the group. I'm so behind.

    1. I edited the beginning of the post to be a little more clear that this is about BTS the group. Sorry for the confusion!
