Hiya guys! Wow... it's been a while... *Sigh* I don't want to get into giving you excuses as to why I have been so off the grid. I plan on making a post later this week on discussing a what has been going on with the girl behind the nails. But for now I think this blog needs some pretty polish and I'm back just in time for our favorite time of the month. That's right, we are less than one week away from the October run of the Polish Pickup. This month the theme is Monsters & Mythical Creatures, which is a perfect way to start off the month of Halloween. For today I'm sharing swatches for Smokey Mountain Lacquers contribution to the Polish Pickup Collaboration. Without further ado, let's get to the swatches!

Don’t Touch My Egg! by Smokey Mountain Lacquers will be available for purchase through the Polish Pickup Shop October 6th at 11AM EST through October 9th. This full-size shade will retail for $10.50 each.

If you're not familiar with the concept, the Polish Pickup offers a fun, interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas, vote for your favorite theme, and selectively purchase your favorite polishes every month. As I mentioned before, the theme that was voted for October was Monsters & Mythical Creatures! Kim's inspiration is based off the character Occamy from movie Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Don’t Touch My Egg!

Don’t Touch My Egg! can be described as a blurple jelly base with aqua shimmer and teal/purple/blue UCC flakies. You know a polish is freaking incredible when it can even make my little nubs look good! Haha. This is seriously one of my favorite shades I own from Smokey Mtn Lacquers and one of my all time favorite jellies. The color combination is phenomenal and gives this shade a next level complexity. Plus the tone of blue looks perfect against any skin tone.

The formula has a sheer application as intended for a jelly finish. It has a nice even build-up with easy layering. Consistency wise it leans on thin, but it's manageable and makes the flakies spread perfectly across the nail. I experienced no staining on removal to my nail bed or cuticles. Shown in three to four coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Kim requested I swatch this shade over a base and I'm SO glad I did. It was definitely one of those moments I looked at my nails and let out an audible swoon. The shimmer simply came to life over a black base!

Overall I'm head over heels in love with this shade (as if you couldn't tell with all the gushing I've done through the review, haha). Granted I'm a sucker for blue shades normally so I tend to be a bit biased in that regard. But color aside, the winning point for me is the formula. The fact that works so well by itself as well as over a base just seals the deal for me. What do you guys think? Will you be nabbing this shade this month?
