Supermoon Lacquer - Sailor Guardians Collection - Outer Set

Hiya guys! Get yourself some tea or a snack because we are back at it with another lengthy post. Your wallet is quaking, haha. Today I'm sharing swatches for the Outer Set of the Sailor Guardians Collection by Supermoon Lacquer, which is the second half of yesterdays post. These polishes are inspired by the remaining Sailor Scouts in the main line-up of the animanga. As I mentioned yesterday, I have been a huge fan of this show for years - going back to watching it on Toonami after school while doing my homework. Being able to swatch this collection has been the biggest throwback and I couldn't be happier to touch-base with that part of my childhood. So many good times. Ah, the magic of polish. Okay enough of getting all sentimental, let's get right into the polishes and photos!

Supermoon Lacquer - Sailor Guardians Collection - Outer Set

The Sailor Guardians Collection by Supermoon Lacquer will be releasing for pre-sale on Friday, October 20th at 6PM CST. Each full-size 15mL bottle retails for $10.00 during the pre-sale and afterwards it'll be $11.00. The outer set retails for $52.00 regular and $47.00 during pre-sale. The entire 10-piece collection is also available as a set for $89.

Supermoon Lacquer - Twinkle Yell
Supermoon Lacquer - Twinkle Yell

Twinkle Yell can be described as a bright pink holographic filled with red and silver/white sparks, red-to-gold color shifting shimmer, neon pink flakies, and iridescent, metallic, and holographic pink and magenta micro-glitter. And we are kicking off this review with a very pinky pink shade. I feel like this is one of the polishes you either love or hate right off the bat based on the color tone. I'm not going to lie, I have never been a big fan of pink so it's something that lacks in my collection. That said, I can't deny of cute of a color this is. The subtle glitters in the finish add a nice touch without taking away from the color or sparkle. Now I don't personally love the way it looks against my skin-tone as it feels like it brings out too much warmth and clashes.

Twinkle Yell is based on Chibiusa aka Sailor Chibi Moon and named after the phrase used to summon Pegasus in Super S (season four).

The formula has a very opaque application although I don't consider it enough to be a one-coater. It does layer nicely however for a fully opaque finish. The consistency feels balanced throughout the application without being too thick or too thin. No troubles whatsoever. The finish does dry down to a slightly gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after a thick layer of topcoat. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Dead Scream
Supermoon Lacquer - Dead Scream

Dead Scream can be described as an blackened red-violet holographic duochrome filled with magenta/violet/copper chameleon pigment, red-to-copper and magenta-to-gold color shifting shimmer, red, purple, and green shimmer, iridescent red-to-green micro-glitter, and black and silver holographic micro-glitters. Such a rich and delicious-? shade that I cannot help swooning. I don't know if it's because I'm hunger or what but it reminds me of black cherry ice cream... Yeah that's definitely because I'm hungry so carry on, haha. The shimmer really brings this base to life and gives it such a deep sparkle. The touches of green to gold are what really stand out, especially in the macro shot. It's a gorgeous combo all around! Of course the darker tone of the polish looks fantastic against my skin complexion and doesn't bring out too much warmth despite the red tones.

Dead Scream is based on Setsuna Meioh aka Sailor Pluto and named after the special ability she uses for the majority of the anime, starting with her first appearance half-way through Sailor Moon R (season two).

The formula has a very opaque application and felt like an easy one coater no doubt. Swatching habits made me add a thin second coat, but it was definitely not needed in terms of opacity. Like the previous polish, it has a well balanced consistency and not give me any issues during the layering. It dries down to a minimal gritty finish as well that smooths out after topcoat. And it's worth noting that I experienced no staining on removal to either my nail beds or cuticles. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Submarine Reflection
Supermoon Lacquer - Submarine Reflection

Submarine Reflection  can be described as a teal holographic duochrome with green/blue/gold chameleon pigment, green-to-blue color shifting shimmer, blue, green, and turquoise shimmer, turquoise flakies, iridescent teal/blue micro-glitter, and turquoise metallic and holographic micro-glitters. And here we have my favorite for this half of the collection, but really it should come as no surprise. I'm a sucker for anything teal and cannot own enough of this shade. This one is particular is so incredibly detailed in the finish with a lot of elements coming together nicely. It feels like it has a little bit of everything going on in the finish - shimmer, glitters, flakies, and more. The sparks of gold though are what really make this finish come to life, especially under direct sunlight. The color looks great against my skin-tone, bringing out just enough warmth to make me glow.

Submarine Reflection is based on Michiru Kaioh aka Sailor Neptune and named after the special ability she gains in S (season three).

The formula has a sheer application especially when compared to a lot of the others in this collection. Not enough to be considered a jelly by any means, but definitely needs a bit of layering for full coverage. It also had a thinner consistency, but not so much that it flooded during the application. I still considered the layering a easy process and didn't feel like the polish gave me any trouble. The finish dries down to a minimal gritty finish as well that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Not surprisingly, this shade did give me some staining to my cuticles on removal. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Space Sword Blaster
Supermoon Lacquer - Space Sword Blaster

Space Sword Blaster can be described as a blackened navy blue holographic filled with blue/purple/copper chameleon pigment, gold and blue shimmer, gold and blue flakies, iridescent blue/purple micro-glitter, and sapphire, silver, and gold holographic micro-glitters. I feel like the 'space' in the name feels very appropriate for this shades incredible finish combination. One look at the macro and it feels like I have the entire galaxy on my nail! It has a beautiful shimmer to glitter combination that I wish could have been captured better in the full shot of the swatches. The sparkly shine is definitely best seen under direct sunlight to feel the full effect. The darker tone shade looks great on my skin-tone as well, which is not a surprise for me as this is right up my alley in terms of color.

Space Sword Blaster is based on Haruka Tenou aka Sailor Uranus and named after the special ability she gains in S (season three).

The formula has a pretty great opacity that is almost opaque enough to be considered a one coater. I also personally prefer to add the second coat as a way to enhance the sparkly glow in the finish. It has a well balanced consistency throughout the application, not too thick or too thin. Like the others so far, it dries down to a gritty finish that smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Now I did also experience some minor staining on removal to my cuticles. Although worth noting there was no staining on my actual nail beds (this is after an hour of wear-time). Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Supermoon Lacquer - Silence Glaive Surprise
Supermoon Lacquer - Silence Glaive Surprise

Silence Glaive Surprise can be described as a dark blue-violet holographic duochrome with copper, purple, and red shimmer, red-to-gold and purple-to-red color shifting shimmer, blue/purple/red chameleon pigment, and silver holographic micro-glitter. And we are closing off the review with a shade just as gorgeous as the one that started it. I think my only wish with this shade is that it leaned just a tad more purple than blue. Personally preference. But that said, its a unique combination and the hints of copper really give this polish a nice 'pop' factor. I feel like all the 'darker' tones in this half of the collection really went perfectly with my skin-tone and personality. Definitely something I see myself coming back to again and again.

Silence Glaive Surprise is based on Hotaru Tomoe aka Sailor Saturn and named after the special ability she uses in the beginning of Sailor Stars (season five).

The formula has a bit of a sheer application that builds-up nicely for a full coverage. Not a lot of layering or work required to have that rich opaque finish. Consistency wise it leaned a little on the thin side while still being manageable. Out of the collection, this has the least 'gritty' feel to the finish so it was easily smoothed out with topcoat. And despite the rich color and blue undertones, I did not experience any staining on removal to either my cuticles or nail beds. Shown in two coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
