Smokey Mountain Lacquers - World of Pandora Collection

Hiya guys! Woohoo, time for the weekend! For me that means unfiltered and uninterrupted mani cave time. Polish addicts understand how amazing that is, haha. So today I'm sharing swatches for the gorgeous World of Pandora Collection by Smokey Mountain Lacquers, which is based off the movie Avatar. I've been looking forward to this collection ever since the announcement! The movie Avatar has been a long time favorite of mine and I have lost the number of times I have seen it. It's not just a movie, but a whole incredible universe! Needless to say, I definitely recommend giving it a watch if you have never seen though (especially now that the sequels are finally in production). But it's time for the polish, so let's go ahead and get right into the swatches!

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - World of Pandora Collection

The World of Pandora Collection by Smokey Mountain Lacquers will be available for purchase Saturday, October 7th at 7PM CST. Each full-size 15mL bottle retails between $8.50 to $11 and each mini-size 8mL between $6-$7 depending on the finish. The collection can also be purchased as a set for $51.75 in full or $40 in mini.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Last Shadow
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Last Shadow

Last Shadow can be described as a orange crelly with gold shimmer and black holo hex micro-glitter. Starting off this review with one of my favorites from this collection, believe it or not. It's not often I fall in love with an orange shade, so when I do it's one that knocks my socks off. It's a gorgeous rich color with the perfect amount of shimmer for that glow effect. Plus it's also from striking against my skin-complexion, which doesn't happen often with orange shades.

The formula has a sheer application that builds-up really well. There are plenty of glitters per brush stroke that spread across the nail nicely without clumping. It has a balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. The finish dries down to a gritty feel, but smooths out perfectly after topcoat. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Direhorse
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Direhorse

Direhorse can be described as a chocolate brown crelly filled with gold/bronze/silver UCC flakies and green and aqua shimmer. The contrasting shimmer against the rich brown really makes this a unique shade. It's all about the shimmer and you'll see that being a theme in this collection. It's also a great hue against any skin and perfect to wear year round. A subtle beauty without a doubt.

The formula has a sheer application, but builds-up easily for full coverage. It has a thin consistency, but it's manageable and isn't runny during layering. There are some minimal brush strokes in the finish, but most blend out after topcoat. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Na’vi
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Na’vi

Na’vi can be described as a medium blue crelly with sapphire galaxy holo micro glitter and white sparkle. Crelly polishes were one of my favorites finishes when I first got into nails and this shade made me remember why. I feel like we don't see crelly shades too often anymore and it's a shame. This is a fantastic shade: it's fun, cute, and I haven't worn something like this in quite some time. Definitely a breath of fresh air.

The formula has a good opacity and builds-up smoothly throughout the application. Consistency wise it leans on the thin side, but it's perfect for such a glitter filled base. Each brush stroke has plenty of glitters that don't clump up whatsoever. It dries down to a textured finish that smooths our perfectly after topcoat. Shown in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Viperwolf

Viperwolf can be described as a black scattered holo with added gold shimmer. The black and gold *swoon* it's a classic combination. While it's not the most unique, it's still a must in any collection if you don't have anything like it. It comes off as a very regal and elegant shade, just a color that can be worn any time.

The formula, like many of the others, has an initial sheer application. There is an even smooth build-up for a fully opaque finish. It has a thin consistency, which tended to run just a bit to the sides. It was manageable though and didn't give me too many issues. There are no brush strokes visible in the finish and dries down to a high shine. Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Banshee
Smokey Mountain Lacquers - Banshee

Banshee can be described as a turquoise/mint crelly with teal/purple/blue UCC flakies. Here we have my pick as must-have and hands down my favorite shade I have ever swatched from SML. I can even go as far as to say this will be on my list of favorite shades of 2017. I was immediately drawn to it from the second I saw the bottle, but wearing it definitely sealed the deal.

The formula has a really great opacity and needs minimal layering for an opaque finish. It has a perfectly balanced consistency, not too thick or too thin. Lots of flakies in each brush stroke, but it doesn't overwhelm the nail and blends in well between layers. It dries down to a nice smooth high-shine finish on its own. I experienced no staining on removal to my nail beds or cuticles. Shown here in two to three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.

Skycup can be described as a blackened purple scattered holo with added purple and red shimmer. Closing out this review with another favorite pick of mine from this collection. Obviously the purple is very rich and beautiful, but it's the red shimmer that takes this shade to the next level. The depth is stunning and I wish I could have captured it better in photos.

The formula has a sheer and smooth application, but builds-up easily for full coverage. Consistency wise leans on the thin side and tends to run minimally. I experienced no staining on removal to my cuticles or my nail beds. Shown here in three coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat.
